School Ski Trip

Tatiana M in Year 13 reports: “Our trip to Austria was amazing. We stayed in a large hostel with our own en-suites and a swimming pool only a two-minute walk away. There were a range of slopes to choose from, appropriate for all the different levels of skiing ability. We all had the freedom to change group due to confidence or ability. We had a great night bowling not too far from the hostel, which allowed us to make large teams and speak with new friends.”

Pupil Librarian Award

We are very excited to be able to announce that Joe S-L (Year 9) pictured left, has been selected as a finalist for this year’s annual Pupil Library Assistant Award run by the School Library Association. You can read more about this on the official website, but here’s an excerpt from the press release:‘The shortlisted pupils were nominated by their school librarians for their outstanding work in the school library… Open to pupils who assist in school libraries across the UK, the award recognises the impact of their work at their school and equally the value of the experience to the children’s lives. Entries are judged by a panel from the children’s book world and school library community. The winner will be announced by the Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho at the award ceremony [in] April.’ Well done Joe!

London Borough of Culture Interview

We have further reason to be proud of our A Level Drama Student Koko I. Before half term we reported that Koko has been accepted to both LIPA and GSA drama schools. Since then, she was invited to attend the London Borough of Culture interview. Following the event, the Head of Arts and Culture at Wandsworth Council wrote to us to compliment Koko forbeing absolutely fantastic - she spoke so eloquently, passionately and knowledgeably. She worked incredibly diligently in preparing for the interview and we are grateful both that she agreed to be part of the delegation and that you were able to give her the time off school to attend.” Well done Koko!

Super Star in our Drama Department!

We are very proud to announce that our A Level Drama student, Koko I in Year 13, has been accepted to the LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) and GSA (Guildford School of Acting) drama schools! This has involved a rigorous and highly competitive audition process as there are limited places available. This is an incredible achievement – well done Koko!
