Last week, our pupils embarked on an incredible cultural and linguistic adventure to Seville and Córdoba, two of Spain’s most historic and vibrant cities. This trip wasn’t just about sightseeing—it was a full immersion into Spanish culture, history and traditions.
On Thursday 24th January, the Year 7 and 8 athletics teams travelled away to Battersea Sports Centre to compete at the Wandsworth Sportshall Athletics competition against eight other schools in the district. The atmosphere was electric, and our pupils conducted themselves fantastically throughout the day. The afternoon finished with the relays, where all Saint Cecilia's teams won convincingly. Overall results:
Year 7 girls team - won gold
Year 7 boys team - won silver
Year 8 girls team - won gold
Year 8 boys team - won silver
This meant we were the best performing school at the event for the second year in a row. As the borough champions, our Year 7 girls team also qualify to represent Wandsworth in the regional finals on Thursday 6th February.
We have more fantastic news from our LAMDA pupils. Joseph G and Georgina G in Year 9, both achieved Distinction in their Acting LAMDA exams this term. Joseph was entered for Grade 4 Solo and Georgina, Grade 3 Solo. Big congratulations to these two rising stars!
Mimi J in Year 7 drew this still life drawing of fruit using oil pastel on dark paper (pictured left). She has looked carefully, observing subtle changes in colour and shadow to create this beautiful drawing that looks as if it’s about to pop out of the page. Well done Mimi! Pictured Right: Louis P in Year 8 worked so hard on this observational drawing of an insect. He looked closely at details and proportions, before adding shade and tone to create this realistic image. Well done Louis!
The senior netball 1st and 2nd teams are proudly wearing their new personalised senior team netball dresses, made by netball sports brand Flyhawk.
The generosity of our donors enables us to continue to invest in our facilities, support our families in need and offer the outstanding educational experience our pupils and students deserve. We recently completed the Bethany Centre redevelopment and now need to fundraise for further exciting projects, including the potential development of our playground and science labs.

Last term, all pupils in Year 7 received their chosen Bookbuzz book in their English lessons. This week we gathered as many Year 7s and their Bookbuzz books as we could in the Library for a photo-shoot. I’m not sure if this is a record but I’ll be letting Bookbuzz know anyway!
Our 2024 Carol Service at Holy Trinity was brilliant! We are very proud of all the pupils and students in Choir, Chamber Choir, Concert Band, String and Brass Groups, our Staff and Student Choir and all of our Year 7s who sang so well, read so well and acted so superbly. If you were lucky enough to squeeze in and see the service, we hope you enjoyed it. Thank you also to The Friends who provided refreshments.
Premiered at the service was the winning song in our Christmas song competition, written and performed by Year 9 Music Scholars. Download their original song here, or listen here. We are grateful to Crown Lane Studio for recording and mastering the track; it was a wonderful experience for the pupils to be in a professional studio (pictured below).
