Surrey Storm Trials
/On Thursday 4th November Year 11 and 12 students who wanted to be part of the senior netball squads next season were taken for an official netball trial. 34 girls travelled to Surrey Sports Park (home of Surrey Storm netball) where they were greeted by Surrey Storm Head coach Mikki Austin, as well as a Surrey Storm Community Coach Clem and Superleague player and captain of Uganda netball team Peace Proscovia. Peace took the girls through a vigorous warm up and skills section, before moving onto match play. The selectors sat and analysed all the girls as they played in the sports hall where the Surrey Storm team themselves train and play. It was impressive how seriously the girls took the trials, how competitive they were and how much potential these squads have. We are excited to be selecting the two senior squads who, with the partnership with Surrey Storm netball Superleague team, will receive training three times a week by a Surrey Storm player, gain tickets to Surrey Storm and branded kit. Well done to all who trialled.
