Celebrating #Techognition

We joined in the national #Techognition event last week - a celebration of technical support staff, recognising the importance of their essential roles in school and college education. This display in Reception shows the valuable work done by our art and science technicians: Miss Youlia Toneva (art), Ms Debbie Sharman, Miss Alexandra Rodriguez-Romano and Miss Akanksha Jadhav (science).

Saatchi Gallery Workshop

This week we have been taking groups of Year 8s to London's Saatchi Gallery in Sloane Square. Pupils had a private tour from one of the gallery's experts of Edward Burtynsky, a world renowned photographer who looks at how humans have impacted our planet. After learning about the works, we took part in a collaborative textiles workshop where pupils got to 'sew' into a giant tapestry that will be hung in the gallery later this year. It was brilliant to see pupils engaging with, and physically creating, some of London's best culture.

Duke of Edinburgh's Awards First Aid

We are thrilled that all pupils working towards their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards successfully completed their first aid training. Throughout the sessions, they learned vital skills such as the recovery position, CPR, emergency procedures, burn treatment and the proper use of an EpiPen. We are immensely proud of how well they engaged with the training, demonstrating a serious commitment to their learning and preparedness. These skills are invaluable, not only for their upcoming expeditions, but also for life beyond the classroom.

School Ski Trip

Tatiana M in Year 13 reports: “Our trip to Austria was amazing. We stayed in a large hostel with our own en-suites and a swimming pool only a two-minute walk away. There were a range of slopes to choose from, appropriate for all the different levels of skiing ability. We all had the freedom to change group due to confidence or ability. We had a great night bowling not too far from the hostel, which allowed us to make large teams and speak with new friends.”
